In-between Ibiza’s New Exhibition Documents the World’s Dancefloors Through Film by capturecharles

After capturing works from KI/KI, Patrick Mason, Mall Grab, Skepta, DJ Gigola, and more, the exhibition offers an intimate, film-shot portrait of global club culture, opening ahead of the island’s 2026 season launch.

In-between Ibiza unveils “A Shot in the Dark,” a solo photography exhibition by globally-renowned photographer capturecharles, running from April 17 to May 8, 2026.

Housed within In-between Ibiza’s gallery in Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s UNESCO World Heritage old town, the exhibition presents a body of work that traces capturecharles’s evolution from shooting candid film photographs on local dancefloors to working globally with leading artists and nightlife institutions at the forefront of nightlife culture.

His art has positioned him at the centre of an international scene, working alongside some of the most influential figures in global club culture. Yet the essence of the work remains grounded in people; in shared experience, in movement, in presence, collective momentum and individual expression.

A series of artist works capturing Kettama, Chloe Caillet, Effy, DJ Gigola, Skepta, Ushuaïa, and Interplanetary Criminal are exhibited as part of the show. A collection of candid photographs of electronic music culture from around the world will be exhibited.

“A Shot in the Dark brings together a collection of experiences documenting global nightlife culture and capturing the communities that are so deeply important to so many people and myself”, says capturecharles.

“The images hold record of nightlife progressing through the last five years. As all the crews, promoters, artists and dancefloors move into the next generations, I am able to showcase this visual archive of everyone who has put so much effort to be involved. What brings me the most fulfilment is being able to share those moments back with people, allowing them to see themselves as they were on these nights out, immersed in their own freedom.”

Shooting predominantly on film, capturecharles has developed a distinctive approach rooted in intuition and presence, seeking the fleeting interactions and charged atmospheres that define life after dark. His photographs balance chaos with deliberate composition, capturing both the scale of major events and the intimacy of off-stage moments. For the first time, capturecharles brings this body of work together in a single exhibition, presenting a visual archive of nightlife culture as seen through the lens of a photographer whose practice was born on the dancefloor itself.

“These photographs reflect a global culture defined by connection, freedom, and shared moments of joy. In celebrating this spirit and paying tribute to creativity and collective energy, I hope the exhibition both inspires and uplifts its audience. I also feel particularly grateful to showcase Capture Charles’ work in Ibiza, an island that has always served as a meeting point for music, creativity, and human connection”, says Jessica Courtney, Founder of In-between Ibiza.

Founded by Jessica Courtney, In-between Ibiza bridges the gap between tradition and modernity, presenting a programme of artists whose work reflects the island’s vibrant, free-spirited identity. Located between the castle’s iconic entrance and the Museum of Contemporary Art Ibiza, the gallery advocates for art as a way to connect with community, nature, and oneself, while promoting the values at the heart of Ibizan culture: diversity, peace, acceptance, creativity, sustainability, and respect for nature.

Setting the stage for the now fast approaching 2026 ‘ISOS’ season, Markus Schulz partners-up on a track with Dutch singer RYVM (Raffie van Maren). An early portal into what he has in store for this year’s opening ‘Awakening’ mix, it goes without saying that this ‘Dive’ is going deep.  On the track and how its […]

Driftmoon – High Wall

‘High Wall’ unlocks the door to Driftmoon’s Sōnnux Music – the new recordings home that Juraj Klička, and Miikka Leinonen have built themselves.   Following the duo’s reunification in ‘23, when Miikka rejoined as a fulltime member, the pair have been on the march, not least with December’s extraordinary concept album, ‘Moonstruck’. Now, with Sōnnux, […]

Frankyeffe – Out Of This World EP

Tim Stark

Frankyeffe’s calling it an “EP”, though others might argue it’s closer to a full album. Either way, ‘Out Of This World’ makes one thing abundantly clear: when it comes to midnight studio oil and full-throated clubland firepower, Italy’s Francesco Fava’s not a man to do things by halves. Fresh from his ‘One More Night’ outing […]

Push – Known Universe

Tim Stark

This summer, Push returns to the album format with ‘Known Universe’ – the eighth longplayer in his eminent career. That ‘known universe’ specifically is the hardware-driven studio world that shaped his earliest work. The one that Mike Dierlickx painstakingly reassembled in order to reconnect with the tools, challenges and workflows of his original environment. In […]

Roger Shah – Magic Island – Music For Balearic People Vol. 13

Having stopped to smell the roses for a few cycles, Roger Shah’s hallmark music compilation series returns to streams, stores and shelves in 2026. Onboard, naturally, is its usual, impeccable prog/trance/house blend of melodic-tropics, harmonic sonics, castaway chords, beachfront character and seaside atmosphere. Ready to do it to the summer, before the summer does it […]

Waking Up In A Northern Town by Christian Burns

Tim Stark

There’s been a long tradition of musicians from the north of England honouring their origins through their recordings – one that dates back as far as The Beatles’ penning ‘Penny Lane’. ‘North Country Boy’, ‘Hit The North’, ‘Life In A ‘Northern Town’, ‘The North At Its Heights’, ‘It’s Grim Up North’ – just a few […]
