Taylor Torrence

Taylor Torrence is known for raw, quick, and unapologetic sets designed to tear through late-night warehouse audiences, Torrence is a high-energy techno and hard trance performer. Distorted rave stabs, viral vocal hooks, and enticing 150+ BPM drops comprise his music. Performing at Dreamstate, Beyond Wonderland, EDC Mexico, and EDC Las Vegas, Taylor creates his sets for the times when the dance floors full and nobody is ready to leave. Initially renowned for melodic trance, Taylor made a daring change in 2023 carrying a more harsh, more rave-forward edge that has been attracting attention in the underground and within the Insomniac environment. Millions of views have been amassed from his most recent releases, and his festival sets from the last year have found a second life on YouTube to be fan favorites. With a devoted and expanding worldwide audience, Taylor has become known for performances that make viewers lose sight of time. These are the sounds of 3:00 am.

Fast-rising future trance force Taylor Torrence, based out of Los Angeles, reunites with Canadian singer/songwriter Kyra Mastro for their captivating vocal-driven collaboration “Voodoo.” Released on July 18th by Dreamstate Records, the track seals the synergistic relationship they have been sharing across a number of songs this year.

For all the ravers wanting their brain chemistry changed for the better, voodoo is an alchemic hard techno track. With Taylor calling up a groove that will render the dancefloor powerless to its driving, high-octane mind control, Mastros frigid, mesmerising hooks seem more akin to a genuine incantation. As the soundscape develops from deep, cosmic trance songs into epic, adrenalized slashes and slices, the vocal line spirals continuously throughout the run creating a fascinating anchor point. Combining rumbling psy basslines with sharp techno stabs, airy bleep tones, and a Pavlovian rave whistle, the peak-time mix holds all the proper ingredients to keep club- and festival-goers entranced by its appeal.

Road testing the song at some of the biggest festivals in the Western world, Taylor realized he was seated on a certified weapon. He says, describing the track and relating the audience response: This one has pure rave energy. I wasn’t striving for adherence to regulations. I merely wanted to create something addictive, quick, and wild. The second drop always blows live. Following a string of shows where I sensed the crowd wanted something tougher but still humorous, I started “Voodoo.” Built around a cheeky whistle riff and an immediate vocal, I built it. At Dreamstate and EDC Mexico, it grew to be among my most sought after identifications at events. It is a mix of tension, bounce, and releasethe kind of track that hijacked rather than just sat in a set.

Two back-to-back singles, “IDGAF” and “Mona Lisa,” by Taylor Torrence and Kyra Mastro, have racked up over one 1.2 million combined streams this year alone. The response has been absolutely electric, and builds upon an already amazing collection of artists she has collaborated with, including Cat Dealers, Felguk, DLMT, Bruno Be, and more. Mastro’s music has been well-received and has been featured on Spotify playlists from the likes of mint, Dance Rising, Cardio, Summer Hits and more, with over 35 million streams under her name.

“Voodoo” emphasizes the developing rapport between Torrence and Mastro via its cinematic mix of powerful techno, hypnotic trance, and ominous vocals that will power many long nights during the 2025 festival season.

Voodoo” is available now via Dreamstate. Stream it here.
