ABOVE & BEYOND RELEASE BEHIND-THE-SCENES DOCUMENTARY “STEPPING IN: THE MAKING OF ‘BIGGER THAN ALL OF US’”

GRAMMY-nominated electronic trio Above & Beyond invite fans deeper into their world with the release of a new short-form documentary, “Stepping In: The Making of ‘Bigger Than All Of Us,’” available now to watch in full on YouTube.

The 30-minute film captures the band during the creation of their first electronic studio album in seven years, “Bigger Than All Of Us,” offering an intimate look into the creative process, personal hardships, and emotional reconnections that shaped the record.

For Jono Grant, Paavo Siljamäki, and Tony McGuinness, “Stepping In” is more than a traditional “making of” piece. It’s a candid exploration of what it means to sustain a collaborative partnership across decades, continents, and life’s inevitable changes. At its heart, the film reflects the same message as the album: reconnection – with each other, with the music, and with the Anjuna family that has grown around them.

“Stepping In” invites viewers inside Above & Beyond’s London studio during recording sessions with longtime collaborators Zoë Johnston and Richard Bedford, while interspersing those moments with frank interviews and unseen footage that chart the emotional highs and lows of the album’s creation. The trio opens up about post-pandemic disconnection, the psychological toll of burnout, and the transformative power of individual healing on collective creativity.

Formed in 2000, Above & Beyond have remained one of the most respected names in global dance music, renowned for their emotive songwriting, powerful live performances, and unwavering fan base. This year, they released their fifth studio album, embarked on a global tour that included a headlining slot at Coachella, and celebrated 25 years of Anjunabeats — the label they built from scratch.

“Stepping In” serves as a reflective moment in that journey – a story not just about the making of an album, but about the emotional labor, mutual trust, and endurance required to create something together.

Nas

Nas, Ownership Over Clout, And The Blueprint For Generational Wealth

Shon Murdock

In hip-hop, wealth has often been measured in visible success, diamond chains, foreign cars, and sold-out arenas. But real power has always lived somewhere quieter, in ownership. Few artists have embodied that evolution more strategically than Nas, a lyricist who turned street poetry into boardroom leverage and transformed rap earnings into generational equity. From the […]

Solarstone And Susie Ledge Release New Single-“Haunt Me”

Tim Stark

Bold prediction perhaps, but we’ll say it anyway: “Haunt Me”‘s a one-and-done — the kind of record that locks you in on first listen and plays on loop in the mind, long after the speakers have gone quiet. In that instant catch, there’s a certain irony too, as, for the first time in his career, […]

Christian Burns Releases Darker Days (Original & Avenue One Mixes)

Tim Stark

From the forward-looking, Jan-hopeful lean of his most recent single “Fall To You,” Christian Burns moves onto the slightly less sanguine sounding “Darker Days.” After all, every lighter yin must result in some shadowy yang, right?? Well not necessarily, as “sounding” is very much the operative word here, as once again Christian delivers the electronic […]

Ciaran McAuley Announces New Album “Finding Me”

Tim Stark

Ironically perhaps, owes its existence to a period of profound creative doubt on Ciaran McAuley’s behalf. After years of forward momentum, the Irish artist found himself questioning not only his own direction, but his relationship with music itself. At that crossroads, rather than forcing (what now only had the appearance of) progress, he chose to […]
