Dreamstate-Paul van Dyk
Paul van Dyk

Dreamstate commemorates its one-decade milestone with its 20-track compilation album, a celebration of transportive and transcendent trance music ahead of the flagship Dreamstate SoCal festival in Long Beach.

Dreamstate Records marks a decade at the forefront of global trance culture with “10 Years of Dreamstate,” a landmark 20-track compilation uniting the genre’s pioneers, modern icons, and next-generation innovators. Out November 14th, the project celebrates a decade of transcendence, capturing the evolution of one of the world’s leading trance destinations.

Since its inception, Dreamstate has championed every satellite subgenre within trance—from uplifting and progressive to hard and techno-infused—cultivating a global community devoted to the genre’s emotional and euphoric core. The compilation honors that legacy, featuring artists who have shaped Dreamstate’s festivals, concerts, and club events across the globe.

Anchored by the official Dreamstate SoCal 2025 festival anthem, “Is This Only a Dream?” from Paul van Dyk and Aly & Fila, the collection embodies the timeless energy and unity that define the Dreamstate sound. The single surges with the cinematic precision of two foundational forces—fluttering arpeggios, ethereal atmospherics, and surreal spoken-word narration that channels the awe and serenity of sunrise over a festival crowd. Serving as both centerpiece and statement, it reaffirms the enduring spirit that’s carried Dreamstate through its first decade.

Following its luminous lead, “10 Years of Dreamstate” unfolds as a sweeping journey through trance’s multifaceted landscape. Nifra and Sarah de Warren reunite on “On Repeat,” merging vocal trance emotion with the grit of techno. Warren’s entrancing vocal phrasing winds through syncopated triplets and rave stabs before igniting into a hard-bounce climax. The two previously linked on “Time,” and here, their chemistry crystallizes around a sound built equally for introspection and the mainstage.

Under his Stoneblue alias, Ilan Bluestone delivers “The Land of Nanisa,” a cinematic odyssey rooted in personal connection and melodic grandeur. Dedicated to his fiancée—and famously used in his onstage proposal at Dreamstate San Francisco—the track unfolds with symphonic strings, Gregorian chants, and soaring 138-BPM momentum, reflecting the transcendent emotion at the heart of Bluestone’s sound.

Norwegian all-star Ørjan Nilsen and Dutch sensation Mark Sixma are dance music stalwarts who need no introduction. On top of being prominent names on Dreamstate lineups via their respective solo projects, their collaborative project nilsix has been blazing through the catalog since launching the project on the label in 2023. Locking in two spots on the album, their single “Blast From The Past” packs a healthy dose of mainstage intensity with its melodic techno framework. They double back with the special Intro Mix—taking its time to wind up to its full potential—a tension-filled variation that exhibits the highest degree of crowd control by two experts in their field.

Taylor Torrence ventures into darker, warehouse territory with “Collide,” an uncompromising, acid-powered creation built from crashing synth cascades, cosmic pads, and commanding spoken-word narration. The LA-based artist continues to bridge trance and techno intensity, following his recent single “Voodoo” and a North American tour spanning Dreamstate SoCal, EDC Thailand, and a string of club plays across the States.

The underground flame burns through Mark Sherry and label regular David Forbes, whose exclusive track, “This Is the Phuture,” embodies their signature high-velocity tech-trance—razor-sharp stabs, thunderous low-end, and relentless drive. Meanwhile, Matty Ralph, Laura van Dam, and Q.U.A.K.E inject festival-ready emotion and melodic uplift, underscoring trance’s ongoing evolution toward a modern, hybridized sound.

On the remix front, David Forbes circles back around to propel Key4050’s “Cisza”—the 2022 Dreamstate Europe anthem—into overdrive, sharpening its anthemic pulse with acid-laced basslines and lightning-fast percussion. Darren Porter reimagines Giuseppe Ottaviani’s “Keep Your Dreams Alive” with sweeping orchestral strings and melodic phrasing, breathing cinematic life into the 2019 Dreamstate Europe anthem and reaffirming trance’s enduring sense of hope and grandeur.

Elsewhere, Paul Oakenfold, Trance Wax, Lost Minds, Factor B, and Jordan Suckley each add distinct colors to the compilation’s palette—from euphoric chord progressions to introspective atmospherics and peak-time propulsion. Rising talent Fish56Octagon closes the journey with “Let U Know,” reflecting the forward-thinking vision shaping trance’s next chapter.

Across its 20 tracks, “10 Years of Dreamstate” stands as both retrospective and revelation—a tribute to the artists, fans, and moments that have defined the movement. From heritage acts to boundary-pushers, the compilation mirrors Dreamstate’s global footprint: a multidimensional showcase of trance that transcends eras, aesthetics, and expectation.

Now 10 years on, Dreamstate remains a beacon for believers worldwide—evolving while honoring the sound that built its legacy. “10 Years of Dreamstate” captures that duality in full: heritage and innovation, nostalgia and forward motion, converging in one defining release.
