BOUM PATAT is a new electro fun metal project by Belgian musician Olivier Wittenberg, who was formerly the drummer-composer for Manic Movement. He has toured with bands like Kreator and Moonspell and has played at major festivals like Graspop Metal Meeting. After a long break, he is back with his solo debut, Ma Belgitude, which combines heavy metal, Belgian humor, and old-school electronic sounds. The project challenges traditional metal norms with a mix of groove, industrial, and electronic elements alongside quirky themes and visuals.
“We don’t just play a show; we bring a Belgian block party to the mosh pit, “says the band. “Eastern Europe has a legendary metal scene, and we can’t wait to see how they handle the BOUM PATAT energy.”
During live performances, the project expands into a trio featuring Laurent Soulasse on bass and Maxime Demulder on drums. BOUM PATAT kicks off the first leg of their 2026 European tour, starting in April, visiting Eastern Europe, including Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria, and will headline at Future Shock Fest in Satu Mare. A second leg in Western Europe is planned for November 2026, with dates to be announced.
