Wax Motif & Ty Dolla $ign

Globally recognized producer and artist Wax Motif returns with “Bad & U Know It,” a new single featuring 2X-Diamond certified global superstar, entrepreneur & EZMNY Records CEO, Ty Dolla $ign, out now via Divided Souls. The track marks the first release from his forthcoming album House of Wax II, and signals a new chapter that leans deeper into Wax’s cross-genre identity, bridging house music, hip-hop, and R&B at a global level.

With a global touring footprint and a catalog that has amassed tens of millions of streams, Wax Motif has established himself as a consistent force across both club and crossover spaces. Ty Dolla $ign, known for his chart-topping, genre-spanning collaborations, brings additional weight to the record and reinforces its crossover appeal.

Built around Ty Dolla $ign’s signature melodic delivery and Wax Motif’s stripped-back, groove-driven production, “Bad & U Know It” blends late-night club energy with songwriting rooted in R&B. The result is a record that moves seamlessly between dance floors and broader listening environments, reflecting Wax’s continued evolution beyond genre boundaries.

Over the years, Wax Motif has built a reputation as a collaborator across both electronic and hip-hop spaces, with credits and creative relationships spanning artists and producers such as Ty Dolla $ign, Ye, and Timbaland.

Following his 33-million-stream debut album House of Wax and years of global touring and collaborations, Wax Motif enters this next phase with a more fully realized artistic vision. House of Wax II builds on a foundation of long-standing creative relationships and expands into a broader sonic palette, balancing club records with fully developed songs designed to resonate beyond the dance floor.

House of Wax II serves as a culmination of Wax Motif’s evolution as both a producer and artist, bringing together a network of collaborators across house, hip-hop, and R&B. The project emphasizes songwriting and collaboration at a high level, positioning Wax not just within dance music, but within a broader conversation around modern, cross-genre production.

The release further positions Wax Motif within a growing class of producers operating fluidly across genres, where boundaries between dance, hip-hop, and pop continue to blur. As the first entry point into House of Wax II, “Bad & U Know It” sets the tone for a project built on collaboration, songwriting, and cross-genre reach – positioning Wax Motif for one of his most impactful releases to date.

“People have been asking me forever when Ty and I were finally going to release a record. The funny thing is, we’ve actually been building in that space for years – we even did a whole house project at one point, and one of those early demos ended up becoming the first version of ‘Back To Me’ on Vultures. Going into this album, I knew it was time to finish one of the house records we’d been sitting on and really bring it to life. ‘Bad & U Know It’ felt like the one. It’s got that signature Ty Dolla $ign vocal energy – melodic, soulful, undeniable. But, it still hits like a proper club record. It’s always an honor making music with Ty. He’s one of my favorite artists, but he’s also family. This one feels overdue.”Wax Motif

Frankyeffe’s calling it an “EP”, though others might argue it’s closer to a full album.
