Riva Starr has released his fifth album, “Keep Me On The Dancefloor,” under his label Snatch! Records. This album reflects his development as a producer and artist, featuring a new sound that focuses on songwriting, collaboration, and storytelling connected to the dancefloor.

The album was made through writing sessions with talented musicians and singers, adding creativity and depth to the music. Most tracks came together quickly due to the positive atmosphere in the studio, although some required more time to perfect. Riva Starr describes the album as a blend of disco, funk, soul, filtered house, and classic rock, aiming to amplify the positive experiences music can bring and explore personal connections.

“The album was entirely crafted through writing sessions with talented musicians, writers, and singers. This approach brings something unique, as being in the room with other creatives adds an extra layer of creativity and depth, enhancing the production quality. Most of the tracks came together quickly, thanks to the incredible vibe and chemistry in the studio. Sometimes, the process needed a bit of back and forth and more than one session to perfect.” – Riva Starr

The title of the album is a personal inquiry from Riva about what keeps listeners dancing. He emphasized the importance of vibrant music with impactful lyrics and melodies, as his tastes evolve over time. Riva created original tracks and engaged in remixes from respected producers to make a unique vibe.

His most personal work features heartfelt lyrics and storytelling, moving beyond DJ-friendly music to deeper tracks. Collaborators include singer Harry Stone, the electro-funk duo Chromeo, and Nic Hanson. The album showcases a range of themes and emotions, addressing the joy of sharing music and experiences with others.

Riva Starr believes in the value of albums for telling a complete story, despite the changing music consumption habits. He intends for “Keep Me On The Dancefloor” to be experienced as a whole, highlighting his growth as a producer and songwriter. The album is now available via Snatch! Records.

Few artists have embodied that evolution more strategically than Nas, a lyricist who turned street poetry into boardroom leverage and transformed rap earnings into generational equity. From the […]

Solarstone And Susie Ledge Release New Single-“Haunt Me”

Tim Stark

Bold prediction perhaps, but we’ll say it anyway: “Haunt Me”‘s a one-and-done — the kind of record that locks you in on first listen and plays on loop in the mind, long after the speakers have gone quiet. In that instant catch, there’s a certain irony too, as, for the first time in his career, […]

Christian Burns Releases Darker Days (Original & Avenue One Mixes)

Tim Stark

From the forward-looking, Jan-hopeful lean of his most recent single “Fall To You,” Christian Burns moves onto the slightly less sanguine sounding “Darker Days.” After all, every lighter yin must result in some shadowy yang, right?? Well not necessarily, as “sounding” is very much the operative word here, as once again Christian delivers the electronic […]

Ciaran McAuley Announces New Album “Finding Me”

Tim Stark

Ironically perhaps, owes its existence to a period of profound creative doubt on Ciaran McAuley’s behalf. After years of forward momentum, the Irish artist found himself questioning not only his own direction, but his relationship with music itself. At that crossroads, rather than forcing (what now only had the appearance of) progress, he chose to […]
