Trax Records was founded by Larry Sherman in 1985 in Chicago, focusing on community and a do-it-yourself spirit. It has introduced a unique and experimental sound over the years, with Screamin’ Rachael as a key figure in electronic music. Rachael’s punk roots and work with artists like Frankie Knuckles helped promote house music, especially in New York. To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Trax will release “Trax Records: The 40th Anniversary Collection,” a compilation available digitally and on limited-edition vinyl. The label emphasizes artistic integrity and plans limited runs of each record in the anniversary series. An in-store celebration will include performances. Trax also released “Rising Again,” supporting social causes, and introduced a fashion line. Rachael continues to advocate for emerging artists and the LGBTQ community.
