MUSEEC

Ibiza enters a new educational stage in music with the launch of MUSEEC, the first e-course specializing in music curation and sound design aimed at the cultural, audio/visual, and marketing industries, supported by the European Union.

MUSEEC is driven from Ibiza through DIPEF (Association of DJs and Producers of Ibiza and Formentera) and coordinated by Christian Len, president of DIPEF, author of Balearic and co-founder of the agency FLOOOD, together with Vilnius Tech University (Lithuania) and Collabwith, a Dutch innovation consultancy.

This educational project is an initiative endorsed by EIT Culture & Creativity, the innovation and knowledge community created by the European Union through the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Its main objective is to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability in Europe’s cultural and creative sectors.

Music Curation and Sound Design

MUSEEC (short for Music, Sound, Emotion, Experience and Curation) is a pioneering, globally accessible digital course delivered fully online. It offers a flexible and inspiring learning method designed for professionals from diverse disciplines and work environments.

The program combines in-depth lessons with exclusive interviews, case studies, self-assessed exercises, and a learn by doing approach supported by practical workbooks that help students integrate, apply, and personalize knowledge from day one. The course culminates in a final applied project designed for real-world implementation and mentored by international experts.

Supported by the European Union, MUSEEC elevates music curation into a professional discipline with academic depth, integrating innovation, anthropology, neuroscience, entrepreneurship, sustainability, green tech, generative AI, branding, and experience design. This multidisciplinary perspective offers a strategic understanding of how music drives narratives, behaviors, and decision-making in culture, audiovisual media, and communication.

A Project by Media Music Project

MUSEEC is a pioneering educational initiative launched in November 2025, created to train professionals and respond to the growing demand for music-related services linked to placemaking, branding, AI, and experiential marketing.

The training initiative is part of Media Music Project, a music academy committed to research at the intersection of music and other disciplines, with a shared vision: creating a new way of understanding and working with music — not only from a business perspective but, above all, to enhance its cultural and therapeutic value, as well as its capacity to build community.

Program and Faculty

Developed in Ibiza by DIPEF, Vilnius Tech University, and Collabwith, the educational program of this first online course on music curation and sound design consists of 160 hours of theory and practice, structured around three main content areas: Curation, Innovation, and Business.

The course is divided into five modules, taught in English: Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Music Curation & Sound Design, Generative AI, Data & Deep Technologies, Green Tech for AV & Music Production, and Employability & Marketing. Each module includes masterclasses with industry leaders, practical assignments, and a final applied project. Upon completion, students receive an EIT Culture & Creativity certification.

The faculty consists of academics, researchers, interdisciplinary and international professionals, and representatives from leading companies in the music and technology industries, including Siemens, Eurecat, Universal Music Group, SoundCloud, University Autónoma of Barcelona, University of Zaragoza, and Complutense University of Madrid, among others.

With this initiative, Ibiza takes a further step in its commitment to building bridges between music, education, and culture, and to providing the resources needed for continuous training for its community and future generations.

Tim Stark

Setting the stage for the now fast approaching 2026 ‘ISOS’ season, Markus Schulz partners-up on a track with Dutch singer RYVM (Raffie van Maren). An early portal into what he has in store for this year’s opening ‘Awakening’ mix, it goes without saying that this ‘Dive’ is going deep.  On the track and how its […]

Driftmoon – High Wall

Tim Stark

‘High Wall’ unlocks the door to Driftmoon’s Sōnnux Music – the new recordings home that Juraj Klička, and Miikka Leinonen have built themselves.   Following the duo’s reunification in ‘23, when Miikka rejoined as a fulltime member, the pair have been on the march, not least with December’s extraordinary concept album, ‘Moonstruck’. Now, with Sōnnux, […]

Frankyeffe – Out Of This World EP

Tim Stark

Frankyeffe’s calling it an “EP”, though others might argue it’s closer to a full album. Either way, ‘Out Of This World’ makes one thing abundantly clear: when it comes to midnight studio oil and full-throated clubland firepower, Italy’s Francesco Fava’s not a man to do things by halves. Fresh from his ‘One More Night’ outing […]

Push – Known Universe

Tim Stark

This summer, Push returns to the album format with ‘Known Universe’ – the eighth longplayer in his eminent career. That ‘known universe’ specifically is the hardware-driven studio world that shaped his earliest work. The one that Mike Dierlickx painstakingly reassembled in order to reconnect with the tools, challenges and workflows of his original environment. In […]

Roger Shah – Magic Island – Music For Balearic People Vol. 13

Tim Stark

Having stopped to smell the roses for a few cycles, Roger Shah’s hallmark music compilation series returns to streams, stores and shelves in 2026. Onboard, naturally, is its usual, impeccable prog/trance/house blend of melodic-tropics, harmonic sonics, castaway chords, beachfront character and seaside atmosphere. Ready to do it to the summer, before the summer does it […]

Waking Up In A Northern Town by Christian Burns

Tim Stark

There’s been a long tradition of musicians from the north of England honouring their origins through their recordings – one that dates back as far as The Beatles’ penning ‘Penny Lane’. ‘North Country Boy’, ‘Hit The North’, ‘Life In A ‘Northern Town’, ‘The North At Its Heights’, ‘It’s Grim Up North’ – just a few […]
