Mark Ronson, the internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, and songwriter, is recovering after a recent onstage mishap led to a significant injury. The eight-time Grammy Award winner, best known for producing Amy Winehouse’s iconic Back to Black album, tore both of his bicep tendons while attempting to move heavy stage monitors during a DJ set.

Despite the injury, Ronson powered through and finished his performance before seeking medical attention. He later shared an image from his hospital bed with a lighthearted caption: “Torn this way,” referencing his hit with Lady Gaga. The incident occurred just days after he announced his upcoming memoir Night People: How to Be a DJ in ‘90s New York City, which is slated for release in September.

Ronson’s contributions to music are vast. He earned the Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, in 2008 for his work on Back to Black, which helped catapult Amy Winehouse into international stardom. He’s also behind some of pop music’s biggest hits, including “Uptown Funk” with Bruno Mars, and collaborations with Adele, Miley Cyrus, and Lady Gaga.

Mark Ronson’s 2015 album Uptown Special marked a major turning point in his career, especially in the U.S., where his earlier solo efforts hadn’t gained much traction. The project featured collaborations with legendary artists like Stevie Wonder and even included lyrics by renowned novelist Michael Chabon. It went platinum and established Ronson as a major force in American music.

The album’s standout hit, “Uptown Funk,” became a cultural phenomenon. It spent 14 straight weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. charts, earned two Grammy Awards (including Record of the Year), and was the top-selling single of 2015. It also ranks among the best-selling singles in history, with over 20 million copies sold worldwide.

That same year, Ronson was featured in Amy, the critically acclaimed and Oscar-winning documentary about the life of his close friend and collaborator Amy Winehouse. The film went on to become the highest-grossing British documentary ever, underscoring the lasting impact of their creative partnership.

On the personal note, Ronson and his wife, actress Grace Gummer, recently welcomed their second daughter in February. The couple also shares a 2-year-old daughter named Ruthie.

Fans and friends have flooded Ronson’s social media with well-wishes. His representatives confirmed that he is in recovery and looking forward to getting back in the studio and on stage soon.
