“On April 23, 2020, Thom emailed me asking how I was doing in lockdown and requesting anything with my name on it. Initially, I considered creating new work for him but decided instead to send him a mix of past ideas, totaling 20 pieces. Five months later, in September 2020, Thom began sending me 2 or 3 vocal demos a day. This initiated a long and exciting journey, which I liken to being a Hobbit. At no point did we label our work as an album; it developed naturally. Reflecting back, working on this challenging project during such a crazy time was beneficial. Although remote work via email was hard at first, video calls improved our communication. As the music was created, I involved Jonathan to help with the visuals. He insisted on making a video for each track, which surprised me but I trusted his ability. It took 3 and a half years to finish everything, possibly due to lockdown. I learned a lot from Thom’s fearless approach, which encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. The collaboration worked well due to mutual trust and respect. Now, I wish for listeners to find an escape from the world’s chaos for an hour.”– Mark Pritchard
