Electronic pioneers Renegade Soundwave release the first “Rewired” album featuring all-star remixers on Jack Said What + Brighton Album launch party

Renegade Soundwave are one of the most influential and innovative acts to emerge from the UK’s late-1980s electronic underground. Their tracks have left a lasting impression on many producers and DJs who have now taken to remixing and reworking their classics through Jack Said What. They now release the first full rework album of their classics by an all star line up.

With reworkings by Carl Cox, Altern 8, Leeroy Thornhill (ex. The Prodigy) and lots more, “Renegade Soundwave Rewired Vol. 1″ is out on Friday November 20, 2026 in digital and vinyl formats.

Album launch party booked for the end of Dry January ’27 at Concorde 2 in Brighton

“I can’t believe it’s coming out on vinyl, that’s so cool.” – Carl Cox

The first Renegade Soundwave Rewired album is out on November 20th on both vinyl and digital formats. “Renegade Soundwave Rewired Vol. 1” brings together the first reworkings of key Renegade Soundwave tracks by some of the most legendary names in the scene.

The “rewired” singles began dropping at the start of September, and now the “Renegade Soundwave Rewired Vol. 1” album rounds up the first thirteen into an attractive package that booms and bangs in all the right places.

But who are Renegade Soundwave? Renegade Soundwave (RSW) are one of the most influential and innovative acts to emerge from the UK’s late-1980s electronic underground. They refused to recognize genre boundaries, blending sound system culture with heavyweight bass, breakbeats, house, industrial textures, punk attitude and dub production to create a sound that was years ahead of its time, influencing The Prodigy, Meat Beat Manifesto and a whole swathe of acid house originators.

“One of my all time fave bands…. along with Meat Beat Manifesto… tasty mixes!” – Sister Bliss, Faithless

Now the RSW brand is back to inspire and delight a new generation. “RSW Rewired” is not a remix album in the traditional sense: every invited artist worked from newly recorded stems created specifically for the project, giving them the freedom to deconstruct, reshape and rebuild each track into something entirely their own while preserving the spirit of the original compositions.

Support for rewires already released has come from the likes of Mistajam, Fish56Octagon, Chris Hawkins from BBC 6Music, Enzo Siragusa, Paul Oakenfold, Leftfield, Plump DJs, DJ Spoony, Phil Hartnoll (Orbital), Hilit Kolet, Colin Dale, Jumpin’ Jack Frost, DJ Zinc, and lots more.

“Always loved the original ‘The Phantom’ tune. Always loved Carl. A marriage made in heaven…” – Fatboy Slim

Unstoppable Brit DJ Carl Cox has long cited “The Phantom” as one of his favorite tracks of all time, and he was one of the first to agree to be a part of this “Rewired” project. Other key RSW rewires on the album include Leftfield, rave heroes Altern8, former Prodigy man Leeroy Thornhill, Mr. C, Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision, The Freestylers, Gaudi & Don Letts, Nookie and Ray Keith — some of the key figures of bass and beats culture over the past 35 years.

The “Renegade Soundwave Rewired Vol. 1” album will be officially launched by a big day party at Concorde 2 in Brighton on Saturday January 30th — just after pay day, and at the end of Dry January (for those observing it).

Joining Renegade Soundwave on the bill are rewiring acts Leeroy Thornhill (ex. The Prodigy), Mr. C, Altern 8, Nookie and Spatial Awareness, plus Jack Said What stalwarts Nickelle, Mini Da Minx, Carl Loben, Sarah Monument, Pattern Perception, Zoe Vice and more, and a surprise guest too. Expect serious energy, heavyweight beats, iconic sounds and a proper old-school-meets-new-school atmosphere to celebrate the past, present and future of UK dance music.

Earlybird tickets are just £15 from Skiddle, Tickets Here.

Solarstone – Dolphin

Tim Stark

Where, in the infinite void of cinematic ethers, late-night synthery and soon-to-be-timeless melodies do the influential draw their own inspirations from? Well, in the case of ‘Dolphin’ – Solarstone’s gravitational new single, its muse point couldn’t be more documented. And it’s nothing to do with aquatic mammals either. Inspiration, as they say, can strike in the […]
