Sigma launched a new collaboration with grime artist Dizzee Rascal and Coco from Sheffield on their new single “R U Sleeping”, released on April 18th via their independent label Day Ones. The song features both artists showcasing their distinct styles over a dark drum’n’bass beat inspired by Sigma’s early work in the UK underground music scene.
Sigma expressed their excitement about working with one of their idols, stating it felt surreal to release this track under their own label. “R U Sleeping” combines Sigma’s catchy vocal hook with the raw vocals from Dizzee and Coco, contributing to a strong start to the year with other releases like “Chargie,” “Chemicals,” and “Superstylin’.”
Joe from Sigma shared their long-time aspiration to collaborate with Dizzee, recounting how they connected after years of trying. “After a quick studio session, they created the track, emphasizing that it marked a new phase in their music career following their departure from a major label. With Day Ones, they are committed to enjoying the creative process and plan to continue producing more music like “R U Sleeping.”
