Above & Beyond‘s fifth artist album, “Bigger Than All Of Us,”(out on July 18) focuses on reconnection, reflecting the band’s journey over the last 25 years. This theme is highlighted in their new single “Start A Fire,” which showcases a deep connection among the band members and their collaborators.
The song originated from a long-standing instrumental piece by Paavo Siljamäki, developed further by Tony McGuinness, who had a lyrical idea for years. He crafted the lyrics around Paavo’s music, aiming for a conversational style akin to Dire Straits. The collaboration also involved Richard Bedford, whose vocals added a new dimension to the track.
“Start A Fire” was first performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April, marking a significant moment in the album’s promotion and celebrating the band’s history of collaboration with Bedford in previous hits.
